Jay Jehl
Trombone / Educator / Performer
Jay Jehl is an accomplished trombonist and music educator, born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He attended Ball State University for his undergraduate studies and earned his graduate degree from the American Band College of Sam Houston State.
Before starting his teaching career, he toured internationally with the world-renowned Glenn Miller Orchestra. Jay taught middle school band in Charleston, South Carolina for 14 years where he also was the lead trombonist for the Charleston Jazz Orchestra.
In 2020, Jehl returned to Indiana, where he now serves as the Band Director at Summit Middle School and plays trombone with the Sweetwater All Stars. Jay is a proud alumnus of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity.
